Maroccoli Syrah 2019

The Maroccoli Syrah is an intriguing Planeta red. This vintage, 2016, also stands out for its smooth tannins and softness. The Maroccoli Syrah enhances the flavour of lamb, especially marinated and grilled chops, and parmigiana. Its ability to tease is already revealed on the nose, through spices fused with red fruit preserves, including blueberries and blackberries. It also has hints of sage, black pepper and cinnamon. With a fascinating ruby red colour with purple damascening, this Syrah leaves no gaps in the mouth, it is lively and fresh. Ageing lasts 14 months and takes place in Allier oak barriques. Maroccoli Syrah can age up to 10 years, but it can also be drunk immediately at a temperature of 16-18 °C. It is the Planeta estate in Menfi that gave birth to this label. Here, in enchanting and unspoilt surroundings, this interpretation of Syrah is born in a modern key, respecting the noble vine of the same name from which it originates.
