Plumbago 2020

Planeta's Plumbago is a round and smooth red that marries well with flavours such as grilled meats, furred game and kid. The texture of its tannins is varied and creates an excellent accord between the sweet and seductive aspects and the harder, direct and austere ones. The typicality of the Nere d'Avola grapes gives Plumbago an abundance of red fruit aromas such as plums and ripe blackberries that blend with those of cocoa. These are perfectly complemented by wood until they disappear. Deep red in colour with purple highlights, Plumbago Planeta has an ageing capacity of up to 10 years. It should be served at a temperature between 14-16 °C. Plumbago is inspired by the wild flower that grows in the woods surrounding the Ulmo vineyards, where the wine originates. It is an expression of Sicily's most characteristic variety, Nero d'Avola, grown in the old Planeta vineyard next to Lake Arancio.
